The Women’s Opportunities Resource Center is once again partnering with the Sustainable Business Network (SBN) of Greater Philadelphia and the Social Venture Network (SVN) to host the 3rd annual SOCIAL VENTURE INSTITUTE (SVI) for small businesses in the greater Philadelphia area. PLEASE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS OPPORTUNITY TO BUILD YOUR BUSINESS AND DEVELOP STRONG BUSINESS MENTORS, RELATIONSHIPS, AND CONTACTS. This is the one conference where everyone participates. On November 16 & 17th the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia will present an innovative and exciting forum where business leaders, marketing gurus, and management & finance specialists will share their wisdom and practical advice with entrepreneurs from across the region. The Social Venture Institute (SVI) model, created by Social Venture Network, has been used all over North America since 1996 to strengthen businesses. It offers participants and leaders a collaborative and confidential forum in which to discuss their business challenges, solutions and outcomes. The institute offers great opportunity for exchanging expert advice and mentoring to young fledgling Philadelphia business owners. Participants leave with new vision, contacts, new alternatives, ingenious resources, and skillfully crafted tools to continue to build and grow their businesses. The cost of the Social Venture Institute is $140.00 (if you register by 10/16/05), which includes activities, materials and meals for the two day conference. For those needing financial assistance , a limited number of minority scholarships are available, reducing the cost by $100.00. The Scholarship Awardees will only pay $40 if they register by October 16th and $50 if the registration is received following the October 16th date.

Conference Fees: The fees include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two receptions.

The Minority Scholarship Awardees will be notified by email or telephone call after October 16th. The awards will be based on financial need and merit and granted on rolling bases.

WORC will assist our graduates that are not eligible to for the Minority Scholarship , if there is a financial need, and you support the basic premise of the Triple Bottom Line, the environment, good internal business practices, and the local community. You may also contact Leanne by calling 215-386-5211 ext 104. After scholarship approval, Leanne will forward you a registration form. Please register early as scholarships are limited and the price you pay at the door will be an additional $10. The timeliness of your application will be considered among with your financial needs and merit. Remember to contact Leanne by October 16, 2005 at the telephone number listed above.
